Matt Williams

Matt Williams worked as a Field Archaeologist, Trench Supervisor and Presenter on Channel 4’s Time Team between 2003 and 2012 and then once again, on its return, since 2021 until the present. Matt unearthed his ‘find of a lifetime’ – a rare engraving of an ancient Ogham script on one of the episodes recorded on the Isle of Man. He has also fronted numerous documentaries including Digging Band of Brothers, which saw Time Team partner with Operation Nightingale at a WWII camp in Aldbourne and Cerne Abbas: Secrets beneath the Giant which followed a dig in the hunt for the lost Abbey of Cerne in Dorset. Matt has also worked as a Presenter on the BBC archaeology series Digging For Britain. Matt is now RSPB Reserves Archaeologist and runs his own Heritage consultancy - Fearne Heritage.
